Nicole Shanahan, the spouse of a longtime acquaintance, is rumored to have been the mistress of Elon Musk.
Google Co-founder Sergey Brin filed for divorce in January, citing irreconcilable differences between the pair, according to The Wall Street Journal.
According to reports, the incident happened at the Art Basel festival, which brings art collectors to Miami Beach in Florida.
In 2008, when Elon Musk’s electric business Tesla was struggling financially, Brin provided it with enormous financial support.
Since the allegations, the friendship has naturally soured, with Musk apparently going to his knees and pleading with Brin for forgiveness at a party.
Later, Musk disputed the accusations on Twitter, saying Shanahan hadn’t seen him in three years.
“This is total BS,” 51-year-old Musk claimed on Twitter.
“Sergey and I are friends and were at a party together last night! I’ve only seen Nicole twice in three years, both times with many other people around. Nothing romantic.”
The billionaire, who was born in South Africa, has recently been involved in a number of issues, including a failed bid to acquire Twitter. He was charged with having exposed himself to a flight attendant on a private plane in May.
Two weeks prior to delivering a child with his ex-partner Grimes, it was revealed last month that he was expecting twins with one of his executive staff members.
Musk replied to the underpopulation crisis on Twitter by stating that he was “doing my best to help.”
Brin, who co-founded Google with Larry Page in 1998, is one of the more important figures in the business.
The 48-year-old and his soon-to-be ex-wife have one child together.
“I hope for Sergey and me to move forward with dignity, honesty, and harmony for the sake of our child. We are both working towards that,” Nicole told Puck. Elon Musk claimed that he “frequently crashed” at Brin’s home in Silicon Valley when the Google co-founder handed him sizable money for Tesla during the 2008 financial crisis. The Wall Street Journal broke the story of their “brief affair,” stating that it “ruptured” their longtime friendship.
