Kendrick Lamar is not retired. The 34-year-old rapper came out on Monday to announce that his fifth studio album titled ‘Mr. Morale & The Big Steppers’ which is set to be released on 13 May 2022, after five years since releasing ‘Damn’.

Many musicians have fallen victim to the #retired trend. Where tweeps post comments claiming that a particular musician/ singer has retired. Most recently, Beyonce has fallen victim to claims of retirement.

K dot however come out and ended all speculation before it grew traction by quoting and responding to a tweet over a few months old. The tweet by @raptalksk suggested that his silence meant that he has retired.

The Grammy award winner came out to quote the Tweet from February 14 – just to let everyone know that he is still here and far from retirement.

He finesses the response with a link to oklama.com, which is a file/ folder which simply reads “nu thoughts”. In the folder, a letter to his fans describes his process and his return to music.
Lamar also announced that the album will be released under his PG Lang record label, and not under Top-Dawg Entertainment (TDE) as previously communicated.
K dot has mostly been featured on songs with the latest project having been on his cousin Baby Keem’s latest album.
He also curated and contributed to a few songs for the Black Panther film, which included the Oscar-nominated song with SZA, All The Stars.
There have been a number of false alarms from the DNA hitmaker, but at least this time one can safely say that its finally happening. When the news broke, K dot fans went into a frenzy with one tweeting:
