Singer Bulelwa Mkutukana popularly known as Zahara says that she wants her stolen awards back. This is after an invader went into her home and stole six of her accolades, as she had left her home during the Easter weekend when the trophies that stood on her Z-shaped stand were stolen.
The 34-year-old singer said that the person responsible for invading her home and stealing her awards needs to be held to account.
“I don’t care even if the person leaves them by the gate. I want those awards back, I left home on the weekend of Easter and returned on Thursday 21 April.
There was no break-in at the house. Everything was exactly where I found it. The thief did not take anything else besides the six SAMAs and I want them back” Zahara said.
The Loliwe hitmaker said that this is the first time she experienced a home invasion at the complex which she says is very safe.
“The complex is very safe. I have days where I have slept with doors open or left the windows closed.”
The South Music Awards spokesperson, Lesley Mofokeng, stated on behalf of the organization saying that they are saddened by Zahara’s break-in.
“The SAMAs are saddened by the break-in at Zahara’s house, and we wish her well at this time and that the perpetrators are brought to book.

We know what those SAMAs meant to her, and we are proud to be associated with an artist of her caliber. It is quite upsetting that crime has reached this level and people are taking trophies that mean so much to the artists.
The trophy is a symbol of her hard work, and we truly wish the trophies are returned and perpetrators brought to book”, said Mofokeng.
