The forum held an online press conference to provide update on the filed opposing court application against IEC’s postponement attempt.
“As the forum (F4SD), we view the application by the IEC as an onslaught on the Constitution of our country. We will demonstrate contradictions of the IEC in their court papers,” said F4SD.
Elections in this country are not compulsory; therefore it is the duty of every citizen to stand up and go and register. Therefore, there is no excuse in holding future voter registration and the nick of time.
IEC had 5 years from 2017 till late 2021 to provide potential voters with educations and registration to vote. Above that, there is no law that says IEC must hold voter registration last minute.

“Therefore as F4SD, in court, we will advance and unpack further details guided by the Constitution and Electoral Act. F4SD is also jubilant that around six political parties and two civic organisations have join to also be opposing,” it said.
