
The KwaZulu-Natal Provincial Government, under Sihle Zikalala is calling for calm and maximum adherence to the rule of law amid growing threats to shut down the province through violent protests.

The premier calls for utmost discipline and for protesters to express their anger through legitimate and peaceful platforms.
The “Free Jacob Zuma” protests has been taking place since on Thursday night, they have close the biggest main road to the economic hub in the province. Protesters are not yet planning to surrender until former president, Jacob Zuma is released.
Zikalala is under pressure as protesters demand him to show leadership in KZN, failure could lead to be replaced by someone who can exercise high maximum leadership. As it stands, they project him as to have failed dismally.

On Friday, he called up president Cyril Ramaphosa to pardon Zuma, to calm the situation in KZN, but the national government has not responded yet.
