The African National Congress (ANC) Secretary General, Ace Magashule refuses to voluntarily vacate his position despite the resolution to step aside. The President has received massive backup from top 6 to kick out SG.
It is said that Magashule told the top 6 that he will not be stepping aside voluntarily, however, he may have to face suspension as per guidelines of the national conference strengthened by NEC.

The NEC will be meeting this weekend to discuss way forward regarding step aside. However, SG concluded his consultations, but it’s not clear of what kind of advises he got from former leaders of the party.
Pursuit Media SA can confirm that SG Magashule will not step aside without fighting. In addition, if he is suspended he is expected to appeal of which guidelines are not clear of the process.
However, ANC treasury Paul Mashatile who said no one will force SG to step aside, is expected to finalise the guidelines to follow when appealing the suspension.

The ANC is expected to go for a national conference next year 2022 to elect new leadership. It is also not clear if Cyril Ramaphosa will make a comeback as ANC president or not.
