Seven people killed in KZN shooting

by Farida Joyce
August 1, 2022

On Saturday night, seven people were slain in another another mass shooting, this one taking place inside a tuckshop in KwaZulu-Natal. Sources and the police have stated that a tuckshop in Marianahill, KwaZulu-Natal, was the scene of a shooting involving three armed males. READ ALSO:High court rules Hillary Gardee kidnapping and murder be prioritised One source claimed that nothing was taken from the tuck store by the men with weapons, but he was unable to provide many details because the incident had just occurred. According to him, the crime scene had been roped off by police, and startled onlookers were hovering about. To find what the police have dubbed "the cruel killers," KwaZulu-Natal Provincial Commissioner Lieutenant General Nhlanhla Mkhwanazi has mobilized all of the police's resources. According to Brigadier Jay Naicke, a spokesman for the police, it is believed that at 19:30 local time, a group of unidentified males opened fire on patrons of a Marianhill tuck shop, killing six men between the ages of 30 and 65. One more man who had been shot was taken to the hospital, according to Brigadier Naicker, where he passed away early on Sunday. According to him, preliminary investigations showed that the tuckshop owner and his two sons were three of the deceased. The intended victim of the attack may have been one of the deceased who was waiting at the tuckshop to visit a traditional healer....
