As the day goes by without any news of the six-year-old little boy, hopes of finding him start to decrease for the Magadla family.
The search for Khaya Magadla, the little boy who fell into a manhole on Sunday afternoon. Khayalethu was playing with his friends and cousin when the incidence took place.
The Johannesburg Emergency Services have come up with different methods and strategies to help in recovering the little boy’s body. The EMS are adamant in helping the Madlanga family to find closure.
The search and rescue operations are now on the 5th day as they only began searching for his body on Monday.
EMS spokesperson Robert Mulaudzi said: “this time around we will also be deploying some robots to assist us in our search with the hope of assisting the Magadla family to find closure with this incident”.
He further detailed that they are doing everything they can to recover the little boy, they have made an obligation to the young boy’s family that they will rather come up with different strategies to help recover little Khayalethu.
Meanwhile, the family spokesperson Derrick Mngomezulu has pleaded with the public to stop making assumptions that the little boy is dead especially on social media platforms. ‘’He is still alive, we are looking for him, we heard that he fell into a manhole. We don’t have any other confirmation that the boy has passed on’’.
However, Robert Mulaudzi expressed that after three days, the chances of finding him alive are very slim.
The desperate search for the missing boy continues, as the days go by, hopes of finding him alive are fading, but they will not lose hope. The search for the six-year old is anticipated to continue into the weekend if there are still no signs of him today.
