The death of a grade 10 pupil from Soweto Thabe-Jabula secondary school, Pimville has been declared dead after being admitted in hospital Thursday and later died at the hospital.
The deceased was stabbed to death inside the school premises by a fellow grade 9 pupil who was allegedly defending his younger brother from being bullied.

The deceased, who was rushed to the hospital to receive medical attention, later succumbed to his injuries. He sustained four stab wounds inflicted by the suspect, who was apprehended by the police after fleeing the crime scene.
MEC of education Panyaza Lesufi in Gauteng said his department strongly condemns the “violent behaviour” that took place at Thaba-Jabula and encouraged pupils to report incidents of bullying so that disciplinary action could be taken against the perpetrators.
“Revenge cannot be a solution,” said Lesufi.
The GDE had planned to send Psycho-Social Officials to the school on Friday, the parents are said to have stormed in and demanded the school release the learners.
“School has been dismissed for the day because some learners began fighting among themselves,” read the statement.
MEC of education Panyaza Lesufi said that they always encourage learners to report incidents of bullying so that disciplinary action is taken against perpetrators, revenge cannot be a solution.
Bullying has always been a problem in schools, and this is not the first attempt South African pupils have resorted to taking matters into their hand.
MEC has pleaded with guardians from the school to allow their children to resume school on Monday.

“This is to appeal to parents to allow schooling to resume so that the necessary support is provided to the school community. We wish to extend our deepest condolences to the family of the deceased learner,” Lesufi added.
Gauteng education officials will visit the home of an 18-year-old pupil who was stabbed to death at a school in Pimville, Soweto on Saturday.
The teen has since been arrested.
