
KWAZULU-NATAL – The Department of Correctional Services (DCS) has confirmed that former president, Jacob Gedleyihlekisa Zuma has been admitted to start serving a 15 months sentence at Estcourt Correctional Centre, KwaZulu-Natal.

However, the centre confirmed that Zuma will be taken through all the admission processes as per DCS regulation. Other relevant prescripts pertaining to admitting and orientating a newly incarcerated person will be followed and executed.
Adding that details about appropriate classification, prerogatives and incarcerated conditions can be determined on the completion of the assessment to be undertaken by relevant authorities within the employs of DCS.
“Keeping inmates in a safe and secure custody remains cordial to Correctional Service, and we remain committed to this cause,” said a statement from DCS.

Former president’s elder son, Edward Zuma, said that he and the comrades have done their best, but his father made his choice, and they respect it.

“I did my best, comrades did their best, but the old man made his choice. We have to respect it. But Cyril Ramaphosa and Zondo you have started a war, and we will finish it to end,” he tweeted.
