Singer-songwriter Lindokuhle Mgedezi, better known by his stage name Mlindo the Vocalist, has returned with his self-titled album Lindokuhle after almost four years since the release of his debut album, Emakhaya.
The musician says that he has accomplished alot since the release of Emakhaya in September 2018. According to him, he gave his mother a house and a car in 2019 along with a recent property purchase earlier this year, according to Channel24.
Mlindo mentions that despite the successes, not everything has always been happy-go-lucky. In addition, he says that he has been in mishaps, surged, and even found himself trending in the wrong places.
The musician said, “It’s been four years since I released music, so I took my time to grow as a person because a lot of things have happened over the years,” he says. “I incorporated all of the experiences I went through and released them through the music.”
Mlindo says his personal favourites on the album are Kuyeza Ukukhanya and Shiwele.
While his most recent release keeps true to the sound of Mlindo, which fans have grown to love, the two-time SA Music Award winner for best-selling artist claims it is a “special project” since he worked with artists he had always wanted to collaborate with. He includes musicians like Sjava, Ami Faku, Ishmael, Mthunzi, and Maphorisa on the nine-track CD.
“The album tells a story, I just wanted to talk to the people through music, said the “Lengoma” hitmaker.
Additionally he states that he wants to expand his following on the African continent and perform more live events.
