As soon as the serial killer was taken into custody, he was seen sitting handcuffed on the side of the road near to a firearm and live ammo that he was at the time carrying.
Police suspect that the unidentified individual was en route to commit a hit.
The man is connected to numerous murder cases, according to KZN police spokeswoman Constable Thenjiwe Ngcobo.
In places like KwaMashu, Inanda, and Mayville, the majority of the crimes were perpetrated.
“The police are still investigating other issues related to his cases. We still don’t have a date for him to appear in court until certain procedures are completed,” said Ngcobo.
After learning of the suspect’s relocation from Durban to the Western Cape, she claimed that the police had set up a roadblock.
It’s unclear where he was headed in the Western Cape.
“At 10.45am police acted on information regarding a suspect who was wanted for a string of cases including murder, attempted murder, carjacking, robbery and kidnapping. They set a roadblock on the N3 at the Marianhill toll plaza and this is where he was arrested. He was in a bus going to the Western Cape,” she said.
