Bujy Bikwa breaks his silence to tell his side of the story. Bujy took to social media to clear the air following the claims made against him of physical assault.
The claims against him comes after the alleged physical assault between him and the musician Boity Thulo took place at a hotel in Midrand, Johannesburg. It was reported that media personality Bujy Bikwa physically assaulted the actress Boity and threw a bottle of wine which led her sustaining bruises in her face.
The radio personality was apprehended following the incident and spent almost week in jail. However, he was granted a R2000 bail for the alleged assault.
Nonetheless, Bujy released a statement to express how it has been a tough and an emotionally time for him in regards to the GBV allegations against him. He expressed that he doesn’t condone such behavior and how it has affected him and not being given a chance to say his side of the story.
According to the statement, the former Metro FM DJ feels victimised and as he feels that he was abused both verbally and physical by a woman who claimed about his surname background not his and was physical assault in which he was told to take it like a man. He acknowledged that he unintentionally threw a glass of wine to the victims with no intention to cause harm.
“I was verbally abused and told that my surname has no relation to who I am and because of that, that is why my career is not going anywhere in terms of growth, in-fact, “what is it that I do in the media industry because I’m actually nothing!”.
Furthermore. during a verbal confrontation, I was then physically assaulted being kicked and punched while being told that (“I’m a man, I’m a man’) I must take it. The pain and suffering of having to let a woman abuse me verbally and physically while trying to contain myself and holding her hands to stop was not enough, until witnesses managed to defuse the situation. That did not make matters subtle, as it was continued that I was insulted.”
Furthermore, Bujy has opened a case of common assault against Boity for physically attacking him. He also added that after sustaining injuries during the incident and he did not receive any medical attention during the time he was detained.
However, after receiving the medical attention he filed the medical records in his counter case.
“With that being said, I also opened a counter case of common assault against the culprit for physically attacking me and after being in pain from the injuries I sustained for 7 days, being held in police custody, I have received medical attention and have filed my medical records towards my counter case. I do trust and believe that justice will e fairly served and ask that speculations be just that, as the matter is being handled by law enforcements and further investigations are still underway.”
“During this difficult time, I request space and respect on the matter and will reserve further comment on this platform.”
