Chelsea moved top of the Premier league log with an impressive 3-0 victory over Tottenham Hotspurs in the London derby on Sunday.
It was an emotional day for both clubs as they paid tribute to their former talisman Jimmy Greaves, who died aged 81 on Sunday. Spurs were looking to bounce back from a disappointing display against Crystal Palace, while Chelsea were eager to maintain their unbeaten start in the Premier league.
Both teams never looked threatening in front of goal during the first stanza, making the half even in North London. Shortly after the break, Thiago Silva put Chelsea ahead with a header from a well-worked corner.
Half-time substitute N’Golo Kante extended the visitors lead with a deflected shot that left Hugo Lloris with no chance. The European Champions continued to dominate the game, which saw Antonio Rudiger rounding it off with a stoppage-time strike.
Tuchel’s charges are set to face another test when they take on Manchester City on Saturday at Stamford Bridge.
