JOHANNESBURG – The Premier Soccer League (PSL) has announced on Tuesday afternoon that fans will be back allowed back in stadiums, following a two-day long press briefing.
This comes after President Cyril Ramaphosa announced that stadiums would be reopened, with 50% capacity allowed, and only supporters who provide proof of a vaccination certificate.
PSL Chairman Dr. Irvin Khoza has been pressured by the football fans to provide a green light on the matter, by allowing spectators back and enjoy the game that they love.
Khoza has finally given the fans the confirmation that stadiums will be opened, starting from the Nedbank Cup quarter-finals on April 8 and 9.
The chairman reiterated that all games will be played under strict COVID-19 regulations without exception. Spectators will be required to produce a vaccine certificate or a negative test not older than 72 hours, and an Identification Document.
On the issue of tickets, the chairman said that ticket prices will not change and will stay at R40.
