JOHANNESBURG – Legendary actor, Patrick Molefe Shai born in Dobsonville, Soweto was best known for his roles he portrayed in the television such as Soul City, Ashes to Ashes and Zero Tolerance to name a few.
Patrick Shai was not only an actor but was also a motivational speaker as well as a director and founder of the Khuluma Ndonda Forum. He passed away at his home on Saturday the 22nd January 2022.
Patrick Shai was a very talented thespian who rose to fame in the early 90s as a dancer and first appeared on a drama series, Soul City. The veteran had a successful career for over 30 years. He has won several awards and was nominated for several roles in his career as an actor.
Furthermore, the legendary actor’s comes after he trended on social media about a video he posted. Despite the fact that he apologized for it, it was confirmed that the actor committed suicide few days after the video went viral. His untimely death comes while SANTACO was finalizing a partnership with him to teach the taxi industry about gender based violence. He was on 7de Laan and recently joined the cast on The River.

All things considered, mental illness is a very serious and sensitive issue that people go through a lot. Suicide tends to be the only solution for s person who is going through a lot of challenges in life. People need to learn to be kind towards other people because people are facing and fighting demons we not aware of. Suicide is a sign of giving up after fighting and cannot take it anymore.
