Yesterday was music icon and fashion mogul’s birthday, Ricky Rick, the star passed on this year after committing suicide. Yesterday his legacy was honoured on his 35th birthday.
Messages of love and appreciation were all over social media platforms yesterday and many wished the star a heavenly birthday. The messages which flooded social media spoke volumes of the impact that Ricky had on the entertainment industry.
To honour his legacy and celebrate his 35th birthday, Legends Barbershop was relaunched in Waterfall Corner in Midrand, north of Johannesburg.
Ricky’s wife, Bianca Naidoo, was present at the launch and she spoke about what it was like to plan and relaunch the Legends Barbershop without Ricky Rick.
“It’s been an emotional journey for me having to do this without him here. Overseeing every last fine detail. Some might say he left some of his OCD behind. The shop is a huge part of his legacy. As you know ,looking fresh was very important to him. I just hope we have done him proud”. Said Naidoo.
The first thirty five customers who registered at the store received a fresh cut for free, this was all in celebration of the relaunch. The first thirty-five customers were also requested to honour Ricky’s memory by bringing a blanket that would be donated to the local orphanage.
“We are extremely grateful to be growing so rapidly as a brand and excited to be building Ricky’s legacy through his store in Waterfall Corner”. Said the founder of Legends Barbershop, Sheldon Tatchell.
Legends Barbershop recently launched their very first VIP-themed store in Menlyn and now Ricky’s revamped store in Waterfall Corner will also boast a VIP upgrade as their second flagship store in the country.
