The Metropolitan Museum of Art has paid a historic tribute to Rihanna, despite her not being present in this year’s gala on Monday.
This year, many were set for disappointment as she was not able to attend the 2022 MET Gala due to her pregnancy. The singer, actress, and beauty mogul are said to be one of the few celebrities who can wear anything and always give fans a perfect red carpet look.
Apart from her missing the gala, MET paid a historic tribute to Rihanna, real name Robyn Fenty, with her very own marble statue, among other priceless art pieces.
The elegant statue showcases the icon accentuated with bold animal prints.
The 34-year-old soon to be a mom took to her social media to express her appreciation:

Riri arrived at last year’s MET Gala with her boyfriend and father of her child, ASAP Rocky, in iconic blankets cape looks, earning them a massive appreciation from fans as the look went viral on the internet.
The FENTY Beauty founder is currently in her third trimester of pregnancy, and recently made headlines for reportedly hosting a rave-themed baby shower with her partner.

Fenty’s pregnancy journey has not been without challenges, as Rocky was recently arrested for an alleged shooting, but was later released on bail.
In a recent interview with Vogue, the businesswoman stated that she was more focused on embracing motherhood and bringing her baby into the world.
She further stated that her biggest challenge was in finding balance with her professional commitments.
“Balance is one of my biggest challenges and always has been. And now there’s another human being coming into play, it changes what that means again.”
“Still, I have businesses that aren’t going to run themselves. My Mom handled the three of us with not even close to the number of resources that I have, so I can do it,” Rihanna said.
