JOHANNESBURG – South Africa’s first smartphone company ‘Mara phones’ has hit a wall with many fingers pointing in former Miss Teen SA and SABC news anchor – Chante Siyamthanda Jantjies’ direction.
What was supposed to be the countries first smartphone brand has allegedly gone belly – up.
Launched in 2020, with Jantjies at the forefront of the brand’s image. The Mara phones factory is reported to have received a R 1.5 billion cash injection from Standard bank and IDC, however still have failed to reach any success.
Chante has since released a statement following reports of the smart phone company’s alleged misfortunes, absolving her of any involvement in wrongdoing. In what looks to be a letter from Jantjies’ legal representatives, it is stated that she has had no involvement in the company’s day – to – day operations or share ownership.
After news of one of the country’s favourite anchors being involved in such a debacle, Twitter had this to say;
