Africa’s Tourism Indaba is back on track and will take place at the Durban ICC from May 2 until 5th.
South African Tourism spokesperson Lesego Marimo said that it had been a long wait and that they could not wait to meet with all their partners.
“It has been a long two years and we cannot wait to meet with all our valued partners from across the world,” Marimon said.
The Deputy Head of eThekwini Municipality’s Durban Tourism, Winile Mntungwa, said there were many things in store for tourists at this year’s event and that Durban was ready to return with a bang to the tourism scene.

“Africa is a beautiful continent with a wide variety of tourism products and experiences.
The Indaba is the perfect place for the continent to gather and showcase this to all the qualified buyers and partners that will be in attendance. Africa is open for business,” Marimo said.
Acting CEO of SA Tourism Themba Khumalo also weighed in describing Durban as a magnificent destination and city.
“You are able to let go of things that may be bothering or worrying you.
We give the world an emotion that they cannot experience elsewhere,” Khumalo said.
This year’s Indaba offers approximately 126 authentic products and experiences unique to Africa.
There are over 539 buyers who will travel from across the world to get a feel of these unique products and experiences.

According to organizers, the event will feature digital transformation with discussions on its role in the future of travel as a sector that operates in the digital age.
The Indaba is expected to generate close to R72.5 million in income for the city’s economy with about 4000 delegates expected to be in attendance.
Founder and managing director of Ndzenga Tours Safaris, Makhosi Msimango, specializes in authentic heritage tourism experiences and says that her business offers tourists exclusive rights to the Royal Palace in Nongoma.
“We are ready to showcase the wonderful offerings that KwaZulu – Natal has to offer,” Msimango said.
