This Women’s Month, M – Net will present Reeva Steenkamp’s perspective on the horrible murder she suffered at the hands of her boyfriend Oscar Pistorius, which occurred nine years ago.

My Name is Reeva is a three part documentary series that the Steenkamp family and director Warren Batchelor, who has been nominated for a South African Film and Television Award twice, have created. READ ALSO:Police arrest suspects for rape incident in Krugersdorp

In addition, M-Net is releasing the first episode of the series in August, Reeva’s birthday.

On August 25 at 20:30, Part One will debut on M-Net (DStv Channel 101).

The second installment will air on September 1st, and the third and final part will air the following Thursday.

Interviews with Reeva’s family and close friends will be a major part of the series because they are supporting the filmmakers.

“We fully endorse Warren and his team to bring out the truth in this documentary and show the world who Reeva really was,” said her parents Barry and June Steenkamp, quoted on M-Net’s statement.

“This will show that a beautiful, intelligent, and beloved woman was taken in the prime of her life,” wrote M-Net, which has acquired ownership of the series. It will also be broadcast to the rest of Africa.

The television show will delve into what transpired the night before Reeva passed away on February 14, 2013, Valentine’s Day, and it will inform viewers of how her passing affected people who cared about her the most.

During this time, Pistorius, who has already served seven years of his 13-year, five-month term in prison, met with the Steenkamps on June 22 for a special Victim Offender Dialogue (VOD).

“As Barry and June seek justice for their daughter and having agreed to an audience with Pistorius ahead of the parole hearing, they want answers: why did this senseless murder happen at all?” wrote M-Net.

“My Name is Reeva attempts to answer this question, but more importantly, it tells the true story of Reeva.”

Sihle Zikalala has been succeeded as the new premier of KwaZulu-Natal by Nomusa Dube-Ncube. Since the start of democracy in 1994, she becomes the province's first female premier. READ ALSO:Divisions in Cosatu ahead of elective conference At a Monday morning press conference, the newly elected provincial leadership officially announced Dube-appointment. Ncube's Prior to the weekend, three people had begun to gain attention as potential competitors for the position made vacant by Zikalala's departure last week, but Dube-Ncube stood out the most. Mbali Fraser and Amanda Bani were further candidates. Dube-Ncube served as South Africa's ambassador to the Czech Republic and has had a fascinating political career inside the ranks of the ANC, which is currently in power. Dube-Ncube was the mayor of the North Central council prior to the merger, which gave rise to the current eThekwini municipality. She has also held the positions of MEC for cooperative governance and traditional affairs in addition to serving as the party's main whip in the provincial assembly. Divisions in Cosatu ahead of elective conference

Deep divides among a number of Cosatu affiliates, the largest trade union federation in the nation, raise the possibility that a contentious race for leadership positions may break out when the group conducts its elective conference next month. Large affiliates of the federation, particularly those in the public sector, are allegedly beset by factionalism that hinders efforts to bring them together in support of those who will run the organization after September. READ ALSO:One person dies in Kagiso protest The leadership succession is traditionally managed via the federation's central executive committee and public sector union organizations like the joint mandatory committee (JMC) to avoid ugly battles that could destabilize the organization. Zingiswa Losi, the president of Cosatu, may seem to be in a strong position to maintain her job, but it has recently come to light that she is facing opposition. Additionally, it has come to light that Bheki Ntshalintshali, the federation's general secretary, was the target of a significant lobbying effort. If that were to occur, he would become the only Cosatu boss since the federation's founding in 1985 to be dismissed after completing one term. Louis Thipe, the second deputy president of Cosatu, is said to have declared she plans to resign. Louis Thipe, the second deputy president of Cosatu, is said to have declared she plans to resign. Freda Oosthuysen, the national treasurer of the federation, is expected to keep her job after being strongly supported by her affiliate, the influential Southern African Clothing and Textile Workers Union (Sactwu). The SA Democratic Teachers Union (Sadtu), one of Cosatu's largest affiliates, is adamant that the leadership that emerges from the congress should reflect the balance between unions in the public and private sectors. “The leadership should...
