Kgomotso Diale is revealed as the man who was shot and killed during clashes between Soweto residents and informal settlers in the area over allegations of cable theft.

This is after a group of Pimville residents accused people at a nearby informal settlement of repeatedly stealing electric cables.
During a clash between the two groups, several shots were fired, killing Diale and leaving one a woman wounded.
Police Minister Bheki Cele visited the family and addressed a crowd of residents who were gathered outside the home.
“The county’s Constitution allows all South Africans to march unarmed and without violence. This is exactly what you did a few days ago.

Then some people think they can take the law into their own hands and shoot people with illegal guns… We will not stand for that,” Cele said.
“The first price will be that the people who committed the murder and attempted murder should be arrested in at least 48 hours so we can see them and let them explain what happened because I am told that it was a peaceful march and that they weren’t provoked by anything. I am told that they just wanted to kill.”
Kagiso Diale said that prior to his brother being killed, the brother joined the Operation Dudula movement with the hope to get answers to a huge problem.
“Our community is affected by the power situation. I come back home to start my business, so we would smoke together during studio sessions, and he would always get frustrated about how we organized events and there were power cuts,”
“He cared a lot. As a family man, he enjoyed being with family.” Diale said.
