She is reported to have canceled all performances so that she can focus on getting well. The severe stroke is said to have affected her ability to effectively communicate due to impaired speech.

The first African Barbie doll role model, having been awarded her own Barbie in 2019, and the multi-talented singer has recently pulled out of the Miss Bachelorette South Africa Pageant, in Gold Reef City which was due to take place on Saturday 23 April.
The world-renowned ‘Ngiyazifela’ singer has since returned to South Africa and is being attended to by medical personnel working to nurse her back to health

The family has released a statement urging South Africans to keep them in their prayers.
“Her medical team has advised that her journey to recovery will require patience and therefore, it is unlikely that she will be able to perform in the short term. That said, Lira is in good spirits and is surrounded by her loving family and close friends as she journeys towards a full recovery,” read the statement.
“We thank you in advance for your prayers, support, kindness, and utmost sensitivity and consideration during this very challenging time in her life. Let there be light!”
